"Christ In the Passover"

JEWS FOR JESUS TO SPEAK

Vladimir Mitnitsky of Jews for Jesus will speak at Christ’s Outreach Church on March 25th, 2010 at 7:00pm.  The Mission Council invites all to attend.  Jews for Jesus uses creative methods and contemporary issues to present the message that Jesus is the Messiah to Jewish people around the world.

Mitnitsky was born in the Ukraine.  At the age of fifteen, he made aliyah to Israel without his parents (his father is Jewish).  Although he knew about Jesus, he didn’t believe in him as in the promised Messiah.  He studied in Yeshiva (religious high school) for three years.  There he was challenged by the rabbis to think about the Jewish Messiah who would bring redemption and peace to his people.  Although he was taught to do good deeds (mitzvahs), Mitnitsky didn’t have peace in his heart.

He came to faith in Jesus at the age of twenty after he read prophecies about the Messiah in the Old Testament.  He graduated from college with a professional diploma n engineering.  But when he volunteered with Jews for Jesus on the streets of New York City and Israel, he felt God’s calling to do evangelism to his Jewish people.  After participating in four Jews for Jesus witnessing campaigns, three in Israel, Mitnitsky joined the Jews for Jesus staff as a full-time missionary in 2009.

Moshe Rosen founded Jews for Jesus in 1973 and revolutionized Jewish evangelism with his creative approach.  “Our model is the Book of Acts,” says Rosen.  “Jesus’ disciples didn’t linger in the Upper Room.  They went down to the streets where the people were.”

David Brickner, a fifth-generation Jewish believer in Jesus, succeeded Rosen as Executive Director in 1996.  Brickner has kept Jews for Jesus on the cutting edge as the ministry has expanded and established branches in eleven countries, including the United States, Brazil, Israel, Russia, France and South Africa.  “We exist to make the Messiahship of Jesus an unavoidable issue to our Jewish people worldwide,” Brickner states.  “There are still a few that haven’t heard of us!”

To Vladimir Mitnitsky and other Jews for Jesus staff, the objective evidence of the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament, and the transformation in their own lives provide ample evidence that Jesus was who he claimed to be—the Jewish Messiah.  Mitnitsky will be happy to answer questions after the presentation.  Call 724-283-8407 for more information.  There is no admission charge.
